On May 1, Morton Comprehensive Health Services announced the formation of the Morton Health Foundation. Representatives from state, county and city offices, public health, social service agencies and other organizations in the community were in attendance. The guest speaker was Dr. Mary Anne McCaffree, professor of the College of Medicine/Pediatrics/Neonatology at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association. In addition to the announcement, Morton recognized more than 50 people who were born at Moton Memorial Hospital, which was the predecessor to MCHS, between 1921-1967.
